20 Weeks Pregnant

This is the halfway point of the second trimester as well as the halfway point of your entire pregnancy. The biggest change to notice during this time period is the expanding uterus pushing up and out, so much so that your belly button may become and "outtie" for the rest of your pregnancy.

The baby's major organs are developed, although for girls the ovaries are not quite finished. Otherwise, the growth will be mainly in size and weight. The baby in week 20 is typically about six or seven inches long. He or she spends a little over two-thirds of its time asleep, and when he or she is awake, you can feel movement and even some kicking, though not as profoundly as you will be able to feel it by week 30. It's possible still to feel him or her hiccup now, too, which is pretty neat.

Mom can expect to gain between 1/2 a pound and a full pound each week from here on out. Stick to a healthy diet to minimize weight gain and also to help your body adapt to its growth. Itching and stretch marks can be minimized by staying hydrated and eating properly now, in addition to using moisturizers like cocoa butter.
