21 Weeks Pregnant

By week 21 things have settled down emotionally and nausea has subsided, and although you're showing, you aren't too uncomfortably large as you may become in the third trimester. Therefore, this is a good time to remain active physically which will enhance not only your and your baby's physical healthy, but also your mental well-being. Exercise is a great way to relieve stress, and now that your baby is more than ever in tune with Mommy, the less stress you're feeling the better for everyone. There's still quite a ways to go, and it's definitely not time to settle in and wait for it to be over!

You've gained about 15-20 lbs. by now and you may be experiencing swollen ankles and leg cramping. Maintaining a healthy diet and staying hydrated will help these symptoms more than anything. When resting, however, prop your feet up under a pillow or on a stool in order to help ease these discomforts.

You uterus has grown to above your belly button and it's putting pressure on your other organs. As a result, you may experience shortness of breath from time to time--this is normal. When the baby drops in the third trimester as delivery nears, this pressure will ease.
